The new Miami Ultras website
South Florida's soccer supporters group the Miami Ultras launched their new website. www.miamiultras.com this past Monday. The old website MiamiSoccerfan.com announced the move this past Friday.
It’s an end of an era for MiamiSoccerFan.com as we end a nice run here. We’ve had some good times here at MSF with the birth of the Miami Ultras and plenty of cool interviews and stories.
But don’t be sad because we’re moving to a bigger and better website, miamiultras.com. At MiamiUltras.com you’ll have a much enhanced experience with Miami Ultras TV, Facebook and Twitter connectivity, more writers, flash slideshow and our very own forum.
You’ll have no need to go over to BigSoccer with the MiamiUltras.com forum. All you have to do is register and start giving your opinions in any of the threads or start your own thread. This forum will moderated much more liberally than any other soccer forum, so go ahead and let it rip.
This new and improved site will also allow us to have more writers with the ability to post their own articles. You will no longer need to email me your stories. Contact me if you wish to write on MiamiUltras.com and we’ll hook you up.
So stop wasting time and head over to the new MiamiUltras.com!
Be sure to check it out!

Hope Solo and Abby Wambach on Letterman, MagicJack Fan website and more...

Most of us in South Florida who know of the existence of magicJack, the Women's Professional Soccer team playing in Boca Raton, have been wondering why the owner of the team (Dan Borislow) has not made a real website or even done some type of marketing for a team filled with stars who in their majority play for the U.S. Women's national team that recently played and lost the final versus Japan.

One of the fans recently took it upon herself to create a website and twitter account to get the word out. As the fan stated she just "Got tired of waiting for magicJack to make a website, so I just did it myself: http://www.wpsmagicjack.com/ "
You've got to admit it looks much better than the website the team has on the WPS site. MagicJack's website is http://www.womensprosoccer.com/dc
MagicJack also has a facebook page that seems to be run by FAU students.

Hal Habib of the Palm Beach Post recently wrote:
MagicJack includes two of the highest-profile members of the U.S. team: Hope Solo, considered the world's top goalkeeper, and forward Abby Wambach, who scored the dramatic 122nd-minute goal against Brazil.

Other national-team members of magicJack are reserve goalkeeper Jill Loyden, defenders Christie Rampone and Becky Sauerbrunn, and midfielders Shannon Boxx and Megan Rapinoe.

As soccer fans we here at FMB really want MagicJack to be successful and hope that the team takes advantage of this World Cup hype, but playing at a 1500 person field is a disservice to the quality players the team has and to the fans. It would be beneficial to MagicJack to play a double header with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers at Lockhart Stadium just down the road South from Boca Raton. We feel both teams would benefit from the exposure this would give.We hope both organizations could team up for the good of soccer in South Florida.

Hope Solo and Abby Wambach on Letterman
Talk about the World Cup hype all over the internet and social sites... you can see evidence of how America has embraced the USWNT everywhere. Proof of this can be read in all the national newspaper headlines and watched on TV. Two of magicJacks star players Hope Solo and Abby Wambach appeared last night on David Letterman. We were able to record a couple of segments that you can see below.

Here is the part where Abby and Hope kicked soccer balls at New York City cabs:

magicJack's game vs Western NY Flash will now be shown LIVE on Fox Soccer Channel tomorrow Wednesday at 7:30p ET.Be sure to check it out and support magicJack and the WPS.

WPS - MagicJack
One of the first things we spoke about on the show was South Florida's new Women's Professional Soccer team called MagicJack. The team was set to start it's season this past weekend when they visited the Philadelphia Independence but the game was postponed due to a thunderstorm.
MagicJack will now play its season opener at 7:00 pm this Saturday April 23 at FAU Soccer Field in Boca Raton versus the Boston Breakers.
Not very much is known about MagicJack. For some reason details about the team has been limited, but fear not, their website seems to be under construction so that is a good sign... I think.
What we do know is that the teams roster is full of U.S. national team players. On paper, MagicJack's roster is impressive. With players like Abby Wambach, Shannon Boxx, Lindsay Tarpley, Goalkeeper Hope Solo (Who is suspended for comments made on twitter last season) and Australian Lisa De Vanna just to name a few.
For more information visit MagicJack
NASL - Strikers
www.strikers.com has highlights of their April 16th game against NSC Minnesota Stars.

Following is a fan video that depicts the final moments of the game from the supporters section. It gives you a feel of what it was like to be at the game.

MagicJack gears up for the WPS season.

Very little is known about the new WPS team based out of Boca Raton. MagicJack, as the team is reported to be called, was once the Washington Freedom and has moved to Boca Raton where they will play at the new Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Stadium.

The only information we have been able to gather is what we get off of the WPS site.
Following is some intresting information about the team:
One notable is magicJack's inclusion of two goalkeepers after mutually terminating rights with Canadian goalkeeper Erin McLeod. Jillian Loyden, formerly of the Chicago Red Stars, and Brett Maron, formerly of the Atlanta Beat, have joined the Florida-based team. Both have backed up magicJack's Hope Solo in goal—Loyden in St. Louis Athletica and the U.S. WNT, and Maron in Atlanta.

The pre-season Roster of MagicJack looks as follows:

Shannon Boxx
Diane Caldwell
Amanda DaCosta
Marian Dalmy
Omolyn Davis
Lisa DeVanna
Tina Ellertson
Ashlee Elliott
Katie Fraine
Sarah Huffman
Meghan Klingenberg
Jillian Loyden
Brett Maron
Nikki Marshall
Ella Masar
Rebecca Moros
Shannon Myers
Christen Press
Christie Rampone
Johanna Rasmussen
Becky Sauerbrunn
Sophie Schmidt
Meghan Schnur
Hope Solo
Lindsay Tarpley
Abby Wambach
Kacey White

From the looks of it MagicJack has a formidable line up with many Womens World Cup stars.
We hope to have ticket information soon.

Hope Solo... Welcome to South Florida. Burrito loves you!

Hola muchachitas y muchachitos! Burrito want to tell you about his new love. Her name is Hope Solo and she gonna play in South Florida! Well, at least that's what SI.com say and Burrito believe anything they say cause they always have the swimsuit issue an if that no give you credibilitys then nothing will!
Si señoras y señores, Burrito's new chew toy is muy bonita and is maybe the best goalkeeper in the WPS. She will play with the MagicJack's Washington Freedom or a name something like that and will play at FAU stadium in Boca Raton.
But before Burrito continue he have to put up picture of Hope in Bikini!
Ay Chihuahua! Bueno, someone say it not Hope in Bikini pero sure do look like her... si? To continue, Hope is coming off of an injury so we "Hope" she is recovering well and will start for the home opener versus the Boston Breakers Saturday April 23, 2011.

Other than Burrito's girlfriend Hope Solo, the MagicJack's Washington Freedom (or whatever their name will be) will have some of the best womens players in the world like U.S. internationals Christie Rampone, Shannon Boxx, Lindsay Tarpley, Abby Wambach and Australian Lisa DeVanna only to name a few.

Here is video of Hope Solo:
