Blues take on the Railhawks, contest winner and much more...

Miami FC will play the Carolina Railhawks this Saturday May the 8th at 7:30 pm. It's the 4th game in a row for the Blues at home before they head on the road. This home stretch of the season has been somewhat successful if we point out that the team is one of only two team in the USSF Div 2 that remains unbeaten, however, all games have ended in ties. The last versus in state rival Tampa Bay Rowdies 1-1.
Possible line up:
Patterson, Defenders Lancaster, Rodrgiues, Veris and Gbandi, Midfielders Goldberg, Cameron, Paulo Araujo Jr, Shriver, Forwards Santeliz and Thompson,

Carolina comes off of a tie themselves while visiting the Rochester Rhinos (1-1)
Possible line up:
Platter, Defenders Gilkerson, Schulte, Bobo and Shields. Midfield Rusin, Davidson, Franks and Paladini. Forwards Bundu and Barbara.

Tailgate at Lockhart Stadium starts at 5 pm with many give aways such as Dunkin Donuts giving away 25 FREE Dozens and much more. Musical guest will be local South Florida band A Beautiful Cage. Hear some of their tunes HERE

Burrito's "The Starting 10?" Contest winner is Kyle Kaly! The contest consisted in naming the missing player in the starting 11 team picture at last weeks game (see picture to the right) and the player missing was none other then team Captain Jarryd Goldberg. The reason for Jarryd's absence is not known but you can be sure Burrito will be sniffing for answers!

Our friends over at Simply Futbol brought to our attention the fact that the Footvolley World Cup is being held this weekend at Hollywood Beach. It's a 3 day event and if you are not familiar with it many notable professional soccer players have been know to participate. One we may remember is former Miami FC player Romario. As some of you may have read this week; MLS will make an announcement that many believe will mean the inclusion of Montreal as the 19th team in that league. In a recent interview, MLS Commissioner Don Garber mentioned South Florida as the possible location for the final expansion team. Miami Soccer Fan has an interesting piece called Why not Miami? If you haven't read it be sure to check it out as it has numerous quotes from soccer players and celebrities.

I decided to take a week off after Miami FC's season ended. But now I'm back and as promised here is some more Miami MLS info. I'll start off with an anonymous comment made on the last post written by Burrito below. It states that David Beckham is interested in starting an MLS team in Miami.

A source said: "Beckham does not want to go into management when his playing career ends and is now focused on owning a club. Simon Fuller is a clever man and believes there is a lot of money to be made as football continues to expand in the US.

"They have concluded Miami is ripe for a new team and stadium. There is a big Latino population who love their football and there is also a large expatriate British community.

"Plus, it is a great place to live - very sunny and on the coast. They are now starting to look for the right financial partners and sponsors."

The link is over a year old and the source, though not the best, is accurate to an extent.

Recently, a few sites including MLS Rumors brought us the news that Becks was looking at Montreal as a possible city to exercise his option to own an MLS team. We think most fans knew this information was bogus as soon as they heard it and ultimately even the Beckham camp refuted the rumor. Becks and Spice girl in Montreal? Sorry, I just can't imagine them living there or wanting to do anything in Canada for that matter and I don't mean to dis Montreal but the truth is Montreal doesn't need Beckham. They have everything already working for them: A wealthy team owner, a Soccer specific stadium and a large fan base.

In the U.S. after New York and Los Angeles, the only cool city left is Miami. South Florida is the perfect place to set up a team and if anyone can bring the fans to the stadium it's David Beckham.

There remains uncertainty concerning the fate of Miami FC in USL and as some of you have already read we broke out the news of the recent talks involving Aaron Davidson, president of Miami FC and MLS. Read about it HERE
It is still unknown what the talks were about. Some say there could be an MLS-2 in the works. But the same sources that gave us the info on the meeting between MLS and the TOA (Miami FC) tells us "Team Beckham" is in talks with a group interested in bringing MLS to Miami. Is it Traffic Sports? (Owners of Miami FC) Is it Marcelo Claure? (Who did the failed Barcelona Miami bid) or is it another group of investors?

This weekend I was a little late to write about the game, suffice to say the Blues came back from what seemed a loss and shocked us with a late goal that sent the fans into a frenzy. The Miami Ultras as always were present as well as a surprisingly loud Southern Legion. I hope they started a trend and will make it to more games.

Si, ugly peoples from Canada come back to Miami to lose again! If it not enough these pinches Canadians can't even get along with themselves and fight between each other! Why? Maybe it's too cold in Canada? Maybe they tired of being called America's Hat? Burrito don't know and no care.

All Burrito know is that the Blues need to wins and get the three points. Lately Burrito's compadre Diego Serna have not score as much and Burrito think it is because he no get passes up there because we need attacking midfielder that we not have since Leo Inacio has been hurt. So that make Diego go down to look for balls so he no score like he should. Burrito is happy that Paulo Jr. is one bad ass macho man and playing like and running like he eat Hot chile! The Miami Kickers FC are the new WPSL Sunshine Conference Champions and played the Regional Championship against the Ohio Premier this past Saturday, July 25th and defeated them at home by 2-0.
The Kickers will now play in New York on August 1 against Ajax America Women at Adelphi University in the National Championship playoff. Good luck to the girls on their quest for championship glory!

Miami Kickers FC have a 4 game winning streak, Miami FC drops one to the Impact

Thanks to the Miami Ultras site for putting us on to the Miami Kickers FC who play in the WPSL Sunshine Division which they currently lead undefeated after 4 games. The Kickers recently beat down the FC Thomasville Dragons by a whopping 5-1 this past weekend. All Miami Kickers FC home games are played at American Heritage School in Plantation. Admittance is $8 for adults and $4 for children. The Kickers play next away versus the Puerto Rico Capitals. Be sure to check out the next home game on Saturday July 11 as the ladies take on the Clearwater Galactics. Let's support Soccer in South Florida! Be sure to check them out. Word has it the Miami Ultras will try to attend a Miami Kickers game in the near future. We will keep you posted on that.
I'd like to see Miami FC and the Miami Kickers FC get together and give us a double header! Maybe the Kickers can move their Saturday game on July 11 back a day and play at FIU Stadium on Sunday July 12? I think Miami FC should give us a double header of any kind at this stage.

Talk about Miami FC... The Blues lost a close one to the Montreal Impact last night by 1-0. See more here. I'm kind of concerned with the highlights they gave on USL live as there is no film of any Miami attack! Omitted Mysteriously is the legitimate goal that was taken from the Blues... does USL have favorites?

Miami FC gets 6 points out of Cleveland. Blues to meet Impact on Tuesday at Montreal

The Blues played 2 great games away at the Cleveland City Stars. First Miami FC came away with a 2-1 victory on Thursday June 18th. I saw the game at Fritz & Franz and had a great time with a couple of the players and the Ultras. We were down 1-0 but the Blues recovered Leo Inacio Nunes scored off a precise shot that found the inside of the bottom right post, tying the score 1-1. Three minutes later, Orlando Bueso initiated a string of passes that led to Alen Marcina's second goal and Paulo Jr..'s second assist. for more read here and see the video below:

The Blues then played the City Stars again on Saturday June 20th also defeating the local team by 1-0, the ball hit the back of Alen Marcina and the ball fell right into the path of Paulo Araujo Jr. who finished with one touch. Here is the video:
Miami FC will now play against the Montreal Impact this Tuesday at Saputo Stadium on June 23^rd versus the Montreal Impact. Miami FC last beat the Impact at FIU stadium 2-1 on April 24^th.

Hola South Florida futbol fans! (Click on highlighted words if you don't know the meaning of the word) Burritos mami come from Toluca this week and it a good thing cause with that Cochino Flu ting going it dangerous to be in Mexico now! Todays Burrito have mucho to talk about. Primero, Burrito happy Miami FC beat them Canadian Putos by 2-1. Goals by Burritos carnal Diego Serna and Leo Inacio and then them chingones from Canada score one but who really cares? No? The Blues won and that all that matters!
Burrito like FIU stadiums, it very nice and cozy and makes Burrito wanna put on a poncho and live there forevers pero then Burrito see it half plastic for grass and that no good cause that no good! Burrito cant even smoke that grass! No good for balls controls and Burrito like havings mucho balls control! It make burrito feel good and all the mamacitas like that.
Pero bueno, then Miami FC play back in Lockhearts versus those Rhino-cerotes from almost Canada, or someplace gawd forget about cause Burrito no care and unfortunetedly Miami FC lose and that make Burrito sad, pero it ok Burrito forgive players since Serna and Leo Inacio was not playings. Rhinos hurt the Blues, Southern Legion has new website, pictures and more

The Rochester Raging Rhinos ended Miami FC's winning streak with a 2-1 victory at Lockhart Stadium. I wasn't able to attend this game but knowing Leo Inacio was hurt and seeing Diego Serna getting a Red vs Montreal it was apparent this was going to be an up hill battle. South Florida fans can rest assured we have a team that is still up in the standings and will have both players ready for the next game Saturday May 2 against the Charleston Battery at Lockhart Stadium. It's good to see that Miami FC is attracting more fans and with the addition of the Southern Legion we now have 2 Supporters groups that are ready to bleed Blue! Miami FC till the end!

Oui Oui! Miami Defeats Montreal 2-1

Miami FC remain undefeated after last nights victory over the Montreal Impact by 2-1 on goals by Serna (penalty) and Leo Inacio. Gjertsen scored for Montreal.
The Miami Herald reports a very low attendance but there must be a mistake, it looked like at least 3 thousand out there as Miami FC played for the first time at FIU stadium.
Montreal dictated play in the first half and parts of the second but it is goals that win games and the rowdy Miami Ultras never ceased to chant and sing for their team.
"I am very happy with the players, with the work they put in the last twenty days, for this team to come out and win their first games is very impressive. It's like the Miami FC jersey is their second skin" said head coach Zinho on the Miami FC site
Miami will be without star forward Diego Serna for their game vs the Rochester Raging Rhinos after he was ejected after receiving a second yellow at the end of the game.
South Florida fans need to go out and support Miami FC as they play vs the Rhinos at Lockhart Stadium this Sunday April 26 at 6pm. We need everyone out there!

Ladies and Gentlemen we are only a day away from the first match in FIU stadium taking place tomorrow April 24, 2008 at 8 pm between the Montreal Impact and our very own Miami FC.
Last week we saw a rowdy crowd at Lockhart Stadium see the "Blues" defeat the Cleveland City Stars by 3-1 thanks to a masterful display of skills from veteran forward Diego Serna who scored and provided two assist making him the USL player of the week!

Now it is time for Miami fans to show their support of the team, we need thousands of people to show up and make the Impact realize they are in our home turf!

The Miami Ultras are organizing a Tailgate party at FIU stadium starting at 6 pm by Gate 4, just look for the flags! BYOB and get ready to learn some new chants! Go to the Ultras site and read Brian Corey's blog called "Montreal is Going Down". Good stuff and incidentally the Impact are totally going down! Uncle Ed's prediction 2-0 (Goals by Serna and Marcina!)

Miami FC: The Southern Legion make their presence felt at Lockhart Stadium

The Southern Legion is Miami FC's new fan group!
Formed on the ashes of the failed MLS Miami Barcelona bid, this group of rag tag soccer fans want to make a difference!
On Friday April 24, at 8PM, when Miami FC plays versus the Montreal Impact, The Southern Legion (Legion del Sur) expect to be a force to be reckoned with.
I spoke to Sean Gibb and Luis Rodriguez, founders of the group who say "FIU is our turf, our back yard" and they expect to be out there in force!
Good job guys, we need to make FIU stadium a fort, our home is our battle ground and along with the Ultras we need to make the Impact or any team that visits us fear the very idea of stepping a foot in our home!

Some of you carnales might remember "The Burrito Report" back in the days of the Miami Fusion on Bigsoccer (Burrito has since been banned from Bigsoccer with a Red Cards... pinches putos!) and on the South Florida strikers forum (Now the Miami FC supporters forum). The Burrito Report is a weekly poop fest of nonsense abouts the games, the foods, the beers, the womens and everyting that happen in Miami FC games.
Todays Burrito want to makes fun of those chingados fallen "Stars" those guys from boring town no vato ever want to ever visit... Clevelands... ay Virgencita de Guadalupe! Que feo!
Now Burrito feel more sorrys for those putos cause Miami beat them so good 3-1! ...and for reals what does Cleveland really have there? Burrito never even hear of that city until some one say somethings about basketball! Burrito remember hearing Southern Legion guys yellings "Go back to Clevelands and stick with basketball! Without Lebron you guys ain't anything!" hahahaha... or for you Espanish speakers jajajaja (Just so you understands where Burrito coming from!)
Bueno, so basically except for goal from Haitian vato, los "Stars" really have nothing on fields, Miami FC beat those carajitos like Burritos mami used to beat him for stealing a quesadilla from neighbor back in Toluca, Mexico!Anyways, Burrito was proud to see all my carnales of the Ultras singings and telling Referee he is a Wanker! Cause he was!
Burritos only complaint is that there were no topless womens at game! Why? No cheerleaders eithers por el amor de Dios!
Pero Bueno, Burrito want to invite all my homeboys in Miami to not forget to go to the game this Friday vs those ugly peoples from Canada! You see how Canadians looks in South Park? Montreal Impact vs Miami FC pictures and comments...

Miami FC and the Montreal Impact had a scrimmage on Sunday that saw a number of players competing for a place on Miami FC.
Considering Miami FC had only started practicing this past week the team looked good.
One stand out was Miami Fusion veteran Diego Serna who looked sharp and in good form. Word is he is still in talks with Miami FC and we should know this week if he will be part of this years roster.
The game was divided into three 30 minute halves that saw the Impact score 3 times to Miami's 1.
A large number of fans showed up to witness this free event. The next preseason match will take place at Barry University on April 1st, and against Lynn University, April 4th. Other friendlies are still to be confirmed.

Miami FC vs Montreal Impact this Sunday 5pm and pictures of the Ultras celebration at the Bierhaus!

Miami FC has confirmed three friendly matches. The first is against the Montreal Impact on Sunday, March 29th at the Holiday Inn Sunrise 3003 North University Drive - Sunrise, FL. Then against Barry University on April 1st, and against Lynn University, April 4th. Other friendlies are still to be confirmed.

All Miami Fans need to come out and see the Blues as they get ready for the season that begins April 18!

People prefer to go to dumb events and this get on Burritos nerves! Porque you ax? Because it is that time of year for WMC (Winter Music Festival.All these vatos come from all over the U.S. and the world to listen to electronic musics and don't get Burrito wrong, some of the mamacitas that come are hotter then tamales con chile! Pero it becomes like hells on the streets and Burrito no like that!

Miami FC to play against USL rival Montreal Impact this Sunday

Only days after announcing they will continue to play in USL; Miami FC is working on getting a competitive team together for the season that begins April 18 vs Cleveland.

No site has been announced yet but it's believed the game will be played at Lockhart Stadium, though the Miami Herald reports there is a schedule conflict that day. To add to Miami FC's dilemma; FIU Stadium is also booked the following day on April 19 for an exhibition with former soccer stars playing for charity. It is also known that FIU is not interested in having Miami FC play at their stadium this year. If you want Miami FC to play at FIU stadium please write to Pete Garcia at: pgarcia@fiu.edu

According to the Montreal Impact site: The Impact will play this Sunday, March 29 at 5 pm against their USL First Division rivals Miami FC at the Sunrise Soccer complex.

First the Puerto Rico Islanders came back from a goal down to defeat Honduras side Marathon 2-1 in the first-leg of their CONCACAF Champions League quarter-final. The Islanders then took the game in Honduras defeating CD Marathon, 1-0 and will now meet Cruz Azul.
Tonight The Montreal Impact fought valiantly succumbing to Santos Laguna of Torreon Mexico losing 5-2 and that was enough for Santos to advance on aggregate after losing to Montreal by 2-0. Santos will now meet Atlante.

So it's USL (or should I say the Islanders) vs The Mexican League.
