The Fort Lauderdale Strikers

Ladies and Gentlemen, it's official, the team is called the Fort Lauderdale Strikers!

Tons of people showed up, mixed in with TV and radio personalities. The Miami Ultras did a great job cheering and we got free drinks in the end. Let's go Strikers!

The Strikers also unveiled their new website http://www.strikers.com/ you can also see more pictures and read about details at the Miami Ultras site http://www.miamisoccerfan.com/

The event was great. I was able to speak to Aaron Davidson and asked him about the U.S. Open Cup. He said he was happy the NASL got sanctioned. He said the decision to not play was made by the USSF.
Here is the video of the unveiling:

Here are a few pictures I also tweeted:You can get this South Florida United T-shirt by going: HERE

Nice event it looks like it was but......with Davidson running the show the launch will be the high point of the new team. It is all downhill now.

What an awesome event out there last night! I got to meet a few new players and some of the old players. There are so many more people working for the front office now. I think they're really getting the job done. Sun-Sentinal is putting stuff on their TV Channel SFL. This season is going to be great. I hear there's going to be a pub crawl during the EPL games on a Saturday morning. Looks like I'm calling in "sick" to work that evening. GO STRIKERS!! SOUTH FLORIDA UNITED FOREVER!!

Traffic and Aaron Davidson will kill the Strikers name and legacy. Just watch and see.

Read Michelle Kaufman's column in today's - 02/20/2011 - Miami Herald. She writes about the Strikers, The transplanted Washington Freedom of WPS and the strengths and weaknesses of the sport in South Florida. Especially our attitude towards those teams, with major emphasis on the Strikers. Her message is in her last paragraph "stop whining about not having an MLS team and start supporting the game."

Support what we have before you can have more, little children. It's as simple as that.

It will go down. Just wait and see.

"It will go down. Just wait and see."

We understand that that may happen. If it does, don't rejoice. The Strikers going down is the death of pro soccer in South Florida for many, many years. No Strikers, no MLS. What can we do to get this through your thick heads?

The success of the Strikers is our only realistic chance to get MLS back. Extract your head from your ass & quit whining & support the sport. There is no other way.

Sorry, but that's the way it is.

Traffic Sports and Aaron are a bad combination for soccer in SF.

that is so cool buddy! I am sometimes jealous of you because you go to every nice place and meet many people, and I want that in my life!
